 Luxury timeshares involve a group of buyers who share the cost of a single vacation residence. Luxury timeshare or "luxury vacation ownership," as it is sometimes called, is essentially joint ownership or lease of a vacation property by several persons who take turns vacationing at this property each year.
If you have a large family, enjoy luxury vacation variety, like traveling to a variety of places each year, or like to try exciting new destinations—then a destination club might be a better choice for you.
Unlike Destination Clubs, luxury timeshare properties are typically self-service. Cooking, stocking groceries or other personalized in-residence, luxury service such as during-your-stay housekeeping are usually not available.
Due to inflationary dollars, be aware that most new timeshares depreciate in value by thousands of dollars at the moment of purchase.

- Lack of travel and scheduling flexibility
- An asset that quickly depreciates in value
- Can be very difficult to resell
